I’m thrilled that mezzo soprano Elaine Bishop is including one of my songs in her concert in Grantham this Saturday.
I’ve just started composing for voice, and it’s very different from writing for strings, so it will be lovely to hear the music in real life.
The song Elaine is including in her programme is called Sudden Light. This is one of a series of five I’m working on called Moments of Freedom, and it’s inspired by a poem by Dante Gabriel Rossetti about a moment of deja vu. The programme is called Journey to the Past. It’s a recital of songs exploring the theme of memory.
The concert takes place at 11.00am on Saturday August 10th at St John’s Church, Spitalgate, Grantham.
