So many thanks to Suffolk Sinfonia for playing through one of my new string orchestra pieces last night. It was such a help, and I have already made a few small changes that I wouldn’t have been aware of if I hadn’t heard the music played through in real life, rather than on a computer.
I always feel vulnerable when I hear others play music I’ve composed, but I’m also grateful and excited. Being a composer is so new that it still feels like quite an adjustment, but a very happy one!
